LOL – my title today makes me think of Snoopy on top of his doghouse with his typewriter. It’s a cold and rainy day here in the Chicago suburbs – and I would like nothing more than to curl up in a chair and spend the day lost in a book. But there are jobs to hunt (and maybe an interview to prep for) so here I am at my desk.
But if it weren’t a work day and I didn’t have a mile long to-do list, here are a few things I might be indulging in on a cold rainy day:
- Bake a batch of cookies – maybe shortbread? Baking warms up the kitchen at least and you end up with a tasty snack! Here’s Ted Lasso’s shortbread recipe: https://www.thekitchn.com/the-official-ted-lasso-biscuit-recipe-23211497
- Clean out a cupboard or a closet? Might as well be productive when it’s nasty outside. Here’s a helpful link for decluttering tips: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/decluttering-tips-36704986
- Write a letter? A real one that you put in an envelope and use a stamp to mail. You probably have a relative or friend who would love to hear from you. A letter can be a really special keepsake in these days of texts and email. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten how to write a letter! If you have, maybe this link will help: https://www.grammarly.com/blog/how-to-write-a-letter-to-a-friend/
- Arts & Crafts anyone? If you know me, I’m rarely without a crochet project close to hand. But you do you – what do you like to make? Do you like to color? Paint? Break out your art supplies and make something! Stuck for an idea? Try this link for some hot crafting trends: https://www.gathered.how/arts-crafts/craft-trends
I’d like to do any of the above – but I’m heading back to work. I’m taking an online class learning SQL coding – learning something new is always a good idea no matter what the weather is!
