Back from the Holiday Break!

The holiday break is over for me and it’s time to get back to the job search. Don’t get me wrong – I had a fabulous time with my family. And the break was just good all the way around mentally. But I REALLY want to get back to work. I’m not good with too much time to myself LOL!

So where do I stand? I have hopes for a couple of prospects. But didn’t hear from any of the feelers I’ve had out over the last 2 weeks. I hope it’s just the holidays and so many people taking time off but you just never know. Part of the roller coaster of the job search I guess.

So at the top of my to-do list today is checking in with the prospective leads and get moving finding more. I never closed down my consulting business so I need to start looking for project work as well. A side hustle never hurt anyone right?

Speaking of side hustles, I was thinking about how I might monetize my obsession with knit, crochet and yarn in general last night. This might be what happens when you start a knitting project when you also just started a crochet project. Not to mention I made more than one visit to my wall of yarn here in the spare room last night. If anyone is looking for a really unique baby shower gift, have I got a handmade baby blanket for you! The problem is that I can’t produce items fast enough to make a living from it…. And I’m no designer. I still need to think on this one!

So lots to do as I kick off 2024: Find a new job. Put away the holiday decorations. Clean out the spare room closet. Clean out my clothes closet. Try out the new recipes I filed away on Pintrest over the last couple of weeks. Make the copycat Starbucks Oatmeal Raisin cookies. Get my annual mammogram… You know – the things of life that just never stop. Most of these things will make me happy and isn’t that what we want in a new year?

So I hope you’ve made a list for 2024 – and that you make all of the items happen. Happy New Year everyone!
